WHAT IS "THE REAPER LOUNGE"

It is the name of my personal lounge or "Man Cave".

I am a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. My Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) was 462x0, which later was changed in 1993 to 2W1x1 (Click here for more details). We were more commonly referred to as Weapons Troops and/or 462/2W1.

Weapons Troops: When a mission involves deploying aircraft weapons, everything needs to be in perfect working order. The Weapons Troop is responsible for maintaining launch/release systems, to include large caliber machine guns on all aircraft capable of supporting a weapons system. The specialists ensure that explosive devices can be accurately delivered from our war birds. From testing and evaluating new weapons systems, loading ordnance, and regular maintenance, these professionals ensure that the Air Force's arsenal is deployed on target.

Over the years the unofficial mascot for the Weapons troop became the reaper. The death dealer was the embodiment of our mission statement ... "Providing our enemies a chance to die for their country since 1948".

Over time, when referring to my man cave/lounge the nickname of The Reaper Lounge eventually stuck. From here I sit and reflect upon society ... that usually means I complain about something. Deal with it!
